Entry 29: The Hills Have Bi(eyes)-cycles
Left as the sun went up. The b&b Ibstayed at were nice enough to take some of my excess weight off of me which lightened the load of my bike which was great for me.
(This town is super old)
Rode up some hills at the very beginning of my ride and they werent that steep and my bike was a lot lighter, but these hills still kicked my ass! I dont know if it was because I didnt eat enough, didnt get enough sleep, or if it was some other excuse I could come up with. The most logical reason is probably that Im still out of shape and have been spoiled by the mostly flat and down hill terrain Ive been cycling thru.
Luckily all the uphill riding was frontloaded cause the rest of the ride was downhill and pretty scenic too.
Managed to ride into Safford but then my rear bike rack broke! WHAT THE HELL! I realized my rack broke cause the stuff I bungee'd down sagged to one side. Luckily the damage wasnt debilitating cause I still managed to bungee my stuff back on but my new mission is to keep an eye out for a new one.
Anyway, I rented a car form Enterprise and drove 6+ hours to Kayenta. Didnt have to buy breakfast or lunch cause I cooked up some biscuits at the b&b and ate my leftover pizza for lunch so I only really spent money on my car rental and dinner at the Amigo Cafe for Dinner. Im sleeping at another rest stop for the night.
