Entry 21: The Folly of a Romanic Fool // I Bought Myself Peachrings

So after the heavy set back of yesterday, I started evaluating my trip and...Its been pretty expensive so far. So I decided to back track to Baton Rouge and buy myself the best bike pump that I could find and other bike related things I needed (mainly inner tubes). I also decided to save some money and time and rent a car again and just drive down to my next big destination, Houston. All in all, I spent alot of money today, but I also easily traversed 300 miles, which wouldve taken me about 5 days, so Ill chalk that up as a win. Ive still resolved to bike my way thru the southern states, but Im no longer above renting cars and taking shortcuts when I can, especially when I think itll get me to Berkeley faster and save me money in the longterm. Also today was long so I bought myself peachrings at the convenience store as a reward for getting thru it all
Today I rode 35 miles to Baton Rouge and drove 273 miles to Houston.
I spent $310 on the rental car and gas, $100 at the bike shop for the pump, innertubes, and degreaser, $80 for the hotel, and $24 for dinner.
